The Telecom Regulatory Authority Of India ( TRAI ) has blocked telecom giant Bharti Airtel,s platinum and Vodafone Ideas premium plans that offer faster data speed and priority services to high paying postpaid customers citing such schemes can violate norms and could impact the quality if service outside the plans
The plans shortchanges the existing customers and is also not clear that what the new customers are going to offer as the parameters are not quantifiable however , a senior telecom analyst said the two offers do not violate any rules relating to net neutrality as one can always offer ‘ better facility for expensive subscriptions ‘
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India ( TRAI ) Has taken the decision by considering customers having prepaid plan subscribers , the prepaid plan subscribers get low speed Internet connection and poor service , forcedness they have to recharge with hiked post paid recharge plans
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India ( TRAI ) said Bharti Airtel suspension did not comment on the TRAI move but said we want to keep raising the bar for our post paid customers in terms of service and responsiveness this is an ongoing effort at the end vodafone , Idea did not respond anything about this news .
BHARTI AIRTEL PLANS :
Bharti Airtel Ltd on 6th july has announced faster 4G daya speeds for all its platinum customers post paid users paying Rs. 499 or above . The sunil mittal Led telecom major had said it has deployed advanced technologies for its priority 4G network that will give its platinum subscribers preference on the network .
VODAFINE IDEA PLANS :
Vodafone idea has introduced its RedX plan in November 2019 for post paid customers with a price of Rs. 999 , offering up to 50% faster speeds and special services . The price of the plan was hiked by Rs. 100 in May 2020
According to experts both offers are seen as efforts to widen the base of higher paying post paid subscribers an uninterrupted work from home experience with high speed Internet connection
Taking consideration of prepaid subscribers the telecom giants should offer budget friendly plans with high speed Internet connection so that every subscribers should have easy Internet connection with less expenditure
